Here’s a quick synopsis of the manga JUJUTSU KAISEN:
Yuuji is a wizard on the playing field! Aside from the fact that he has little interest in taking part in extracurricular activities at school. He makes the decision to live alone after joining the occult research group, but everything is flipped upside down when the new fragrance is introduced at school.
The Jujutsu Kaisen () manga series, which was initially released in Japan, was written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. The young adult manga magazine Weekly Shnen Jump by Shueisha has been publishing it chapter by chapter since March 2018. A total of 21 tankbon volumes containing its chapters will have been published by December 2022. In this book, Yuji Itadori, a high school student, serves as the main character. He is chosen by an enigmatic group of Jujutsu Sorcerers to free the world from the terrible Ryomen Sukuna curse, of which Yuji becomes the host. Originally featured in Shueisha’s Jump GIGA from April to July 2017, Akutami’s Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School was later collected in a tankbon volume that was later released in December 2018 with the retroactive title Jujutsu Kaisen 0. A follow-up to the series is Jujutsu Kaisen. It’s the work of Akutami.
The Jujutsu Kaisen manga has been printed by Viz Media since December 2019; the firm holds the rights to publish the English-language edition of the series in North America. Shueisha offers the series in English, and readers can access it on the Manga Plus website. A book by Ballad Kitaguni was published in May 2019 and in January 2020. Kitaguni wrote both of the books. The 24 episode adaptation of the anime television series, which aired on MBS from October 2020 to March 2021, was produced by MAPPA. The first episode of the English-dubbed anime will debut in November 2020, and Crunchyroll has granted permission for the anime to be streamed outside of Asia. In April 2021, the anime’s original music became available for purchase. The second season premiere date for the program is set for July 2023.
As of August 2022, there were more than 70 million copies of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga in circulation, making it one of the manga series with the most overall copies sold. Even without accounting for companion books, digital editions, or Jujutsu Kaisen 0, this figure places Jujutsu Kaisen 0 as one of the most popular manga series ever.
Synopsis
All living creatures emit a force known as Cursed Energy, according to Jujutsu Kaisen’s teachings (, Juryoku). According to legend, this energy comes from the negative emotions that flow freely through the body. Most people struggle, if not fail, to control the flow in their bodies. As a result, they continue to lose Cursed Energy, which causes Curses (Japanese: Noroi), a race of spiritual beings whose primary objective is to harm humanity, to be created. These catastrophes are portrayed as horrifying creatures that have bad motives.
The term “Jjutsu Sorcerer” (Jujutsushi, literally “Cursed Technique Masters” or “Shamans”) refers to individuals who have the ability to regulate the flow of Cursed Energy within their bodies. They are able to use Cursed Energy anyway they see fit thanks to this, and the amount of it released is also reduced. This energy can be developed by high-ranking sorcerers and curses, who can then use it to perform Cursed Techniques (Jujutsushiki), which are frequently specific to the individual or their family. The energy itself may be used to carry out these procedures. The Cursed Technique is a more complex version of the Domain Expansion (, Ryuki Tenkai) technique. By using this method, practitioners create a pocket dimension with adjustable size. Each of their attacks will instantly link with one another and gain power as they enter the domain.
The story revolves around Sendai high school student Yuji Itadori, who is incredibly physically fit. As he lies dying, Itadori’s grandfather gives him two life-changing bits of advice: “always help others” and “die surrounded by others.” A decaying finger talisman was broken by Itadori’s friends in the Occult Club, and as a result, Itadori became the target of the potent Ryomen Sukuna Curse. They attracted Curses to their school as a result of this activity. As a result of Itadori’s actions, Megumi Fushiguro and Itadori’s other pals were in danger. All sorcerers must immediately cast an exorcism spell against Sukuna because he is a malicious entity (and, by implication, Itadori). Satoru Gojo, Megumi’s teacher, brings Itadori to the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School with a request for his superiors: put off Itadori’s execution and train with Gojo until he eats all of Sukuna’s fingers to end the Curse. Satoru Gojo, Megumi’s instructor, brings Itadori to the school after noting that Itadori was able to keep control of his body. A collection of cursed spirits are preparing a multi-pronged assault on the world of jujutsu sorcery at the same moment. This gang consists of the cursed ghost Mahito as well as the perverse sorcerer Suguru Geto, who was executed by Gojo a year previously. The headmaster of the Kyoto school asked that Itadori be eliminated immediately from the jujutsu competition that was taking place between the Tokyo and Kyoto schools. However, some others, including Nobara Kugisaki, a classmate of Gojo’s, support his efforts to preserve Itadori’s life.
